Dear Huckleberry Festival Vendors;
After thirty years of hosting the Mt. Hood Huckleberry Festival at three various locations, we will be moving the Festival this year to Cascade Geographic Society’s property in Rhododendron. We’ve decided to combine our Living History Weekend (held each August) with the Festival, changing it to reflect more of the era of old Welches, as it was originally meant to do.
For you, what this means, unfortunately, is that, this year at least (as we re-work, re-construct), we won’t be having any craft vendors. We’ll be selling our fresh huckleberries and products, but will no longer be making milkshakes, tarts, etc. We’ll have the property/buildings open to the public, with the working blacksmith, storytelling, property and Barlow Trail tours, and so forth.
We will, however, be working on growing the Salmon, Mushroom, and Bigfoot festival at Mt. Hood Village, as always on the first full weekend of October. Those applications can be accessed (by April) either on our website at www.cascadegeographicsociety.com or by email.
Your participation at our festival/s always has been, and will continue to be, appreciated. Some of you, over the years, have become friends as well as colleagues, and we certainly hope to continue those relationships long into the future.
You’re welcome to email with any questions, or to make sure you’re on the email list for the Salmon & Mushroom Festival.
Sincerely,
Nita Kreuzer/Michael P. Jones
